Background: READS is a non-profit agency serving numerous school districts in southeastern Massachusetts. One of our many programs is the clinic, which serves children between the ages of 3 and 22 years.
Philosophy: The purpose of the READS Clinic is to evaluate children in order to determine the possible reasons for difficulties that relate to learning and behavior problems.
Overview: An evaluation includes a psychoeducational and a post-evaluation conference. Parents and school personnel are an integral part of this conference. They are invited to participate by providing information to supplement the findings of the READS Evaluation Team. Parents and school personnel are vital to the discussion of educational alternatives which take into account the special needs of the student. A comprehensive report is provided with each evaluation.
